Biography

Nicholas ‘Doc Prop’ Minniti is an avid artist, producer, and writer who strives to bring a distinct style and finesse to an audible medium. Born and raised in the eclectic San Francisco Bay Area, Doc has immersed himself in the art of making music going on 15 years. After graduating and earning a BA in Music Industry & Technology, Doc set his sights on a career of producing and composing music for film, television, and gaming as well as writing, producing, and performing lyrical compositions.

With production on over a dozen albums, including a feature spot on Comcast/Time Warner ‘On-Demand,’ Doc’s most recent work includes composing the soundtrack for a video game (Ballpoint Universe, PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Xbox Live) as well as finishing up his second full length solo album entitled Personal Business. His unique style embraces lyricism and wit as a fundamental to build a platform that is not only relative to everyday life, but relatable to all generations, defying demographics and squashing stereotypes.

When not in the studio or on the road, Doc enjoys attending cultural events, gaming, gardening, and living life to the fullest with his family and friends. Doc currently works and resides in Los Angeles, CA.

From the Press/Reviews:

“Doc Prop has a quick, clean style that is compared to no one else.”

- Chad Inman, Synthesis

“From the first track, Dawn of a New Era (Light of a New Day), it’s obvious Doc Prop has a deeper understanding of music...Prop’s first release backs up his busy touring schedule and nicely supplements his growing catalog.”

- Ky Junkins, Synthesis
(Ghostwriter Jones review)

“Prop is noted for his early and continued success...using his originality and drive to sustain self-created and self-realized record label.”

- Chad Inman, Synthesis

“I got turned on to a video game at the office this week called Ballpoint Universe. The totally awesome, spacious, and subtle soundtrack was composed by Nicholas Minniti [Doc Prop], a 2008 Chico State Graduate with a degree in Music Industry & Technology.”

- Alex Light, Synthesis

“Every one of your albums get better and better, great job!”

“One couldn’t ask for too much more than what Doc Prop gives us...the good doctor takes a rapid fire approach to his flow, rambling off quick-witted rhymes over high-velocity grooves that beckons Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.”

- Dustin Bennett, Synthesis (Doc Prop self-titled review)

“Hip-hop fans should be pleased to know that Microphone Militia is a very well-mixed and produced compilation album...Hopefully Microphone Militia will receive the wide recognition it deserves, as it is a great representation of not only West Coast rap, but also rap music in general.”

- Andrea Espindola, The Orion (Microphone Militia review)

“I have been listening to Doc Prop since 2004. I bought this album expecting some quality lyrics and some good beats. Little did I expect was an inspiring poet, fresh beats, and some humor to top it off. The great thing about this album is I can pick any track and listen to the whole thing and relate to the story some way or another. This album is a must buy. Thank you Doc Prop!!!”

- Chefswan, iTunes (Doc Prop self-titled review)
